You will probably reach Dhakeswari Temple. It is a religious place for the Hindu community in Bangladesh and the National Temple as well.

Then, you will go to Old Dhaka and visit Khan Mohammad Mridha Mosque. It is another noticeable tourist spot in the country.

You will arrive at the vital tourist point of Old Dhaka, the Lalbagh Fort. We can assure you that there you will spend quality time. You will also visit the Tomb of Pari Bibi, Lalbagh Fort Mosque, Lalbagh Museum etc., inside the fort.

After visiting the fort around noon, you will experience the most fantastic adventure by taking a thrilling Rickshaw Ride through the heart of Old Dhaka using narrow streets. You can see the true Dhaka while walking through Chawk Bazar, Begum Bazar, Spice Streets and other places.

It is lunchtime. Taste the delicious delicacy of Old Dhaka, the famous and traditional Biriyani, in a decent local restaurant with local dessert.

Lunch

Now you will visit the magnificent Star Mosque. This mosque is beautifully decorated with tiles using the Chini-Tikri method.

At this moment, you will reach at Armenian Church by walking for fifteen minutes. The church was built by Armenians, and it was designed beautifully.

After walking for 15 minutes, you will reach the boat station and experience the most exciting part of the tour. You will enjoy a Boat-Ride on the Buriganga River. While taking the ride, you will see numerous boats on the river. Some of these boats carry passengers to pass by, and some are used to sell goods. Overall, you will witness the life of people there.

Walk by Main Street, photograph random roadside activities, reach Ahsan Manzil, and visit one of the most beautiful palaces in Bangladesh. It is the palace of the Nawab of Dhaka.

You will walk on a unique street known as Hindu Street. Locals call it Shankhari Bazar. There you will see old buildings and various shops that are raised on both sides of the road.

A little ahead of the street, you will visit one of South Asia’s largest river stations, known as the Sadarghat River Port Station. There, you will see a crowded place. People go to the station to get into massive ferries and travel to the southern part of Bangladesh.

Now it is time to test your patience. Usually, at this time, most of the roads in the city get busy, and you will experience intolerable traffic jams.

After driving through the worst traffic, it is the end time of the Old Dhaka Tour; we will drop you at your hotel/residence and say goodbye.

Expert Advice:

  • Booking this tour at least 1 week in advance is advised.
  • We may take different routes in case of heavy traffic.
  • The itinerary of the tour is flexible, not fixed. It will be adjusted during the time based on traffic.
  • Besides all the attractions and foods, Dhaka city is known for its incredible traffic. You may get stuck in one route for an extended period, so we recommend you mentally prepare to walk a lot. The traffic tends to be light on weekends, however.
  • In case of a group tour (more than 8 people), we will visit the places by car. And a rickshaw tour probably won’t be possible for this type of tour.
  • Before visiting religious sites, we recommend that you get dressed modestly. In this country, it is prohibited to go to these kinds of places wearing short pants/skirts, sleeveless t-shirts/blouses, etc. In addition, bare shoulders and midriffs are not permitted and should be covered with shawls.
  • You must also remove your shoes while entering one of these places. So, again, wear shoes that are easy to take on and off.
  • Locals are always curious about foreigners as they often don’t get to see a foreigner from a close distance. So be patient and friendly with them when they approach you. You don’t need to worry; they are all friendly and open-hearted people. Your guide will always stick with you to protect you from any incident.
  • For toilet or pea, please always ask your guide quickly. Your guide will help you to find and take you to the bathroom. In Bangladesh, over 90% of people use the restroom. So, don’t go behind the bush and have a bathroom or pea-like India here.
  • Please show respect for the locals’ Culture, Traditions and Beliefs. Please don’t hurt them by saying anything, or perhaps better to avoid any political or religious discussions.
  • Taking a photo is a common culture here. Usually, people don’t ask anyone before taking pictures. So, you can take photos of people as much as you wish. Young people are much interested in taking selfies with foreigners. If you don’t like that, just simply say NO to them.
